The MPI MP32PH-Q is a hood-unit type passenger locomotive built for Sunrail. The fourth locomotive of the MPXpress series, they were rebuilt from GP40WH-2s by MotivePower Industries of Boise, Idaho. They are internally similar to MPI's MP36PH-3C.
This locomotive, unlike a regular modern passenger locomotive, is a hood unit rather than a cowl unit. The radiator fan grilles are in the style of the SD45s/late SD70Ms, and rather than the EMD cab being left on, this locomotive has been recapped with a streamlined MPXpress cab. This is the only MPXPress locomotive that is a hood unit as opposed to a cowl unit.
