Now you're starting to get the hang of writing articles on here! I'm sorry if me and Starfleet Academy were rude to you at first, it was just fustrating that we had to keep track of off-topic and copyrighted articles!
Hi, Alex, I've unblocked you. I hope we can get past all this nonsense, and we all can continue to work together.
Btw, HenryDuckFan has deleted some of your articles. I suggest that you either focus on creating a very detailed page on an actual locomotive (you had great success with The General); or you edit were you can on the other articles already on Locomotive Wiki 'til you get the hang of it. Good luck! :)
@Alexthegeneralarteaga: I agree with HDF here, Alex. This site is not about locomotives in art/popular fiction...
@HenryDuckFan: ... That said, why was Alex's other articles deleted? Not all of them were about fictional locomotives. I agree one was mainly about the Granville's appearance in 'Hugo', but "Chessie Steam Special", for instance, isn't fictional.
This is your SECOND strike! ONE more and you will be blocked! Removal of this will result in blocking!
You are still removing the notices, Alex. This is starting to get on my wick. Particularly since you have tried to hide this by swapping the sentences around. This isn't on; even if you think this is rewriting it, which I doubt you do. Well... you have managed to paint yourself into a corner, haven't you? I strongly advise you to just edit within the rules, and ignore any notices that I, or the other admins, may add to your articles.
I'll let you off with a verbal warning for the pointless insult; don't do that again. But as to your second message -- it is fair. I won't ban you forever, but I will stop you from editing, for a short time, if you cannot edit within our rules. We didn't create them to be bent you know? If you stay within the rules for the next couple of weeks I'll set you back to zero strikes. Fair? :)
a grudge is in your mind that when you make a copy of an engine from wikipedia or another web-site the only way to get rid of it was to make your own articles
I can't follow a word of that last message, Alex. Are you saying I've got a grudge? Because I certainly don't. I'm just trying to make sure this site doesn't become a free-for-all.
Or are you saying that copying was the only way you could add to the site? In that case, then, maybe it would be a better idea if you were to have a look at the other articles that are already on Locomotive Wiki and see if you can make additions/corrections. There is much more to wikis than just creating new pages. Launching into creating articles is hard if you're not comfortable with the medium (code/controls). So relax and have a look around. :)
Well, if he's gonna' continue creating off-topic articles and not follow the page formatting, then he should probably be blocked!
And what sucks, is that every other user that I've had on here, Clone Trooper Wiki, TJF Wiki, and Clone Trooper Fan Wiki have either caused trouble, disobeyed the page formats, ignored my warnings, ignored my advice, etc.
It seems as if I can't ever really have any other good user besides those who just contribute once or twice like with Thomasandfriendslover!
I know how frustrating it can be, but you can't take it out on the next person that doesn't follow the rules to the letter. We want to encourage Alex to edit better, not drive him away. One year will make sure he does not edit ever again. I strongly suggest that the ban be changed to 2 weeks, at most. This is because he is editing the site, not trying to damage it on purpose IMO.
I think your problem is you expect too much of people. If you'd expect them to be useless you would be surprised more often! :P
Hi. I usually don't interfere with my son's postings but here goes. This is Alexthegeneral's mom. Just a little insight for you. Alex does his best when he is posting. He may not understand all the rules as he has Autism which explaines why his writings are sometimes difficult to understand. His love of trains makes the wiki trains one of his favorite past times. I just ask that you be a little patient with him. maybe you can forward me a copy of the rules for postings @bernieart02@aol.com, and I will go over them with him. Thanks for listening.
Hi. Okay, I'll send the rules soon. Just in case you read this, I was giving Alex a pretty long leash. To be honest I thought he was rather young. But I get it now. Alex has got a 2 week ban. He is welcome back at the end of that if, of course, he follows the rules. If you don't hear from me, message back here because I've either forgotten or I'll re-send it. Thanks for being understanding! ;)
@HenryDuckFan: Wow, public relations! public relations! It doesn't look good to remove something like that post, mate. :0
*Sighs* No it isn't. The mannerisms are completely different. For one check out the Email address. It doesn't say Alex does it? There's more, but need I go on?
Well, he could be using his mom's email address! I used my mom's email address for my accounts before creating my own! And trust me, sometimes internet users pose as relatives to get away with certain things!
Aren't I the one that's normally paranoid? XD Na, relax, I've already got an Email back. It wasn't Alex. And trust me, sometimes you've got to look at what's to gain to them. Which is we'll be a tad more lenient, because of the new info, when he comes back? Hardly NSA stuff. ;)
This is your FIRST strike! TWO more and you will be blocked! Removal of this will result in blocking!
Sorry, Alex, but you removed the 'copied' notice from Chessie Steam Special again. I made it clear what would happen if you did that. You have reached the end of my leniency, so you will receive a strike if you remove 'copied' notices again.
I hope you will, try your best. And if your second message is referring to {{Strike}}; it is a warning! I should give you another strike, since you took the maintenance tag off The Granville - Paris Express, but I won't since you rewrote Chessie Steam Special. :)
I noticed that you have commented on two of your articles that, 'this is not from wikipedia.' Well that doesn't matter... as the actual notice, and the rules, say: it's information copied & pasted from any other web-site than Locomotive Wiki. Which you have clearly been doing.
I am quite happy to answer any questions you have about this policy, but please don't try to change the subject again...
I never did mate. You must have misunderstood what I said in a message. Well -- to avoid confusion I'm saying this now -- you can edit, and you can add images.
Tags? Do you mean links? If you do check out: Help:Links and Help:Wikitext. Hope that helps! :)
I've just noticed that you have copied a lot of your work from Wikipedia. This is against our rules. Please rewrite your articles in your own words. Thanks! :)
Hi, welcome to Locomotive Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the User:Alexthegeneralarteaga page. If you see anything else you'd like to change/fix, please go ahead! Also, here is a short list of links you might want to check out:
