The NRE 2GS36C-DE is a genset road locomotive built by NRE It is powered by two Cummins QSK50L prime movers rated at 1,800 horsepower. 3,600 hp total.
The first unit was released in August 2011 from NRE's Mt. Vernon shops in Illinois. It was built on a refurbished EMD SD40-2 frame. As of April 2014 no other 2GS36C-DE's have been built.
